Belize is Bred

Wow I cannot believe that Belize and her sister, Pistol, Just did not want to be bred. Is this a 19 year old semen thing. I missed Pistol but did Progesterones on Belize so I knew when she was fertile. She absolutely refused Eragon and even tried to bite him but guess what your mom is a vet and I can make things work. So I anestesized your ass and put those little swimmers right in your uterus so I think you are pregnant. I will check you on Jan 15th. So I hope to have a good litter about Feb 15,2011. Kitty

Walking in the Rain

Dispite what you easterners might think It does rain and is cold sometimes in California. here are Magic and Titan decked out to walk in the rain.

Belize and Eragon

Belize is in heat right now and I will breed her to Eragon. Eragon just got his first major in Roseburg Oregon so he only needs 3 points to finish his AKC Championship. He is already a UKC Grand champion and an International Champion. The puppies will be born in Feb and ready to go to their forever homes in April. See my litter box page on web site for details as they occur.

Pistol Devin breeding

Unfortunately Pistol did not take so I will breed her next heat to Devin's frozen semen. I think some of it was Devin's age but also she did not want to let him breed and would not stand still and he had trouble staying up on her. So next time it will be a surgical implant and she will not have anything to say about it. The puppies will be all black and should be born in June.

I have breed Pistol to Devin and will ultrasound her Nov 15th to see if she has puppies. I am also breeding Belize to Eragon in Feb 2011

The Nationals

I just got back from the Nationals. Had a really good time and found two blue dogs that I will watch and maybe want to breed to. So it was worth the trip.

A Tribute to Anij

It has been awhile since I lost my sweet Anij. She was my heart dog and even though I have a houseful of Great Danes I missher terribly. She was the leader of the pack and kept everyone else in line. she always had the spot next to me in bed. She rode in the passenger seat in the car like a person. Anij was the smartest dog I have ever had and we were quite a team in obedience and rally. She loved learning new things but got very bored with the old. She always went to every dog show even when she stopped showing. She certainly was the Queen of the house. No one has taken her place. Magic and Cassie are content to be followers. Although they both have come out of their shells and vie more for my affection since Anij is gone. So I think it will be fro Belize or Sunshine to take up the crown and my money's on Sunshine.

On a happier note

On a happier note I have a new blue baby girl thanks to my network of friends in Great Danes. I believe that when God closes a door he opens a window. I call her Colridge's Calif Sunshine girl at Kenyons cause out of the darkness sunshine came through when I saw her. So I believe that I was suppose to get her and to breed her to Eragon and that will be a wow litter of blues. Pricilla if you are reading this you have really got Sunshine spoiled. I cannot get out of her site or she cries. All of the dogs get along with her so that was good but Anij in her typically leave me alone growls at her if she junps up when she is on the couch.

Oh my Another sad story

My Saffiara is gone. She contracted Leptospirosis and it killed her kidneys. Some dogs can contract Lepto and their not be any signs at the time of infection. This is known as chronically infected and what happens is that the dog is not sick until the Lepto has killed off his kidneys and then their is nothing you can do. Some how Eragon and Saffaira got missed when shot time came around and I feel so quilty. It was a horrible experience. So if you live in the country make sure your dog gets a Lepto shot every year not every three years.Three years old is to old to lose your Dane and I was planning on breeding her this heat. Kitty

Belize looked good at the Merced dog show. She got second to Lovie who is a beautiful fawn bitch who is 4 months older than Belize. When I get older you had better watch out Lovie.

Merced Dog Show

Hi all Well Eragon did well at this show. He won Winners Dog and Best of Winners (means that the judge thought he was better than the girl who won ) at 2 of the 4 days. So he now has 9 points towards his Championship. He needs his two majors to complete that.

Legacy update

Legacy is getting better but Emily had him at my house while I was at the dog show and he over did it outside and ran around with Titan and Cassie too much and got his one back foot bleeding. He is only knuckling over on his left side and only once in awhile.

Titan New Champion

Titan has been a UKC Grand Champion and an International Champion for 3 years but recently became an AKC Champion after 13 times getting reserve winners dog. He became a Champion last month. I just would not give up as he deserved to be a Champ.

Belize at the Handford Show

My little Belize is getting prettier and prettier. From not even moving around the ring at her first show in November,2009 to getting Reserve Winners Bitch on Friday at the Handford show. I have great expectations for her.

Handford Show

Wow!!!!! We were big winners at the Handford show this past week end. Eragon was winner's dog on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So he racked up another 3 points. So he is half way through to his Championship.

Legacy Update

Legacy improves everyday. He can actually walk with his hind feet in the right place for the whole length of the hall way at the clinic. He is still knuckling over but nearly as much. He saw a chiropractor this week and was adjusted. So I think he is on the mend. Kitty

Saturday, January 30, 2010

On Tues Legacy could walk only id supported heavily. Then on Wed He did not need as much help and he could stand on his own. Now on Thurs he could walk on his own although he knuckled over on his rear. On Friday he could get up on his own. So every day he has improved and I hope he will recover.
David and Jennifer came from Phoenix to seehim and they were so wonderful that Ithought I needed to give them a dog so I let them have Legacy's sister, Fame. They took Fame but really liked Legacy and ifhe gets 100% they will take hime also.
So Fame has gone to a new home but Titan is sad. I tried to get Magic to stay with him but no way. She just sat in front of the door to the house. I will try Cassie and Saffaria hopefully someone will want to stay with poor Titan.
So Fame got a new home but also Legacy when he recovers.

Then we started him on IV's and GI protectants. Then on Monday he was paralyzed in the rear legs. I did not know how this could happen and that has nothing to do with the GI track. He could not get up and this is a death sentence for a 160pound dog. so I had to start him on IV steroids and he did respond. But steroids would aggrevate the GI ulcers. Such a dilemma. I was so worried.

Legacy's story continues. The door knob story was pretty funny we thought. But 5 days later, Sun24th, Legacy got really sick. He was lethargic and had bloddy diarrrhea. He starting pooping out wrappers from some cat treats. He had eaten 70 packages of cat treats. We started him on IV's and GI protectants.

The doorknob

Legacy has found a home and so I neutered him. He has been at the clinic and has been very unhappy being away from his pack. He would howl when we came to work. I decieded to let him be loose in the back area of the clinic. The next day he greeted us at the front door. When we investigated to see how he got up front we saw that he had opened the door with his teeth and destroying the door know in the process. This trait he got from his mother,Magic, and I have to have clips on every gate. I am told that Magic's sister, Chloe, also destroyed doorknobs.
